Halsey Lidgard sails captured the silver at the first annual Larchmont
Classic Boat regatta. Dolphin, Howie Knox's 89 year old Newport 29 was
off at the start and lead the pack around the buoys in both races.
It was a non spinnaker event, two races, once around. Class A consisted of the Dolphin, several S boats, New york 30 and 36's, and a Buzzards Bay 25. Dolphin corrected out to second place overall.
Racing in 10 to 12 knots of breeze, with flat water and sunny skies, the Larchmont Classic Boat Regatta had all the requirements for great sailing. The two short courses provided the competitors ample time to enjoy the hospitality of the Larchmont Yacht Club.
