RACING
A competition of speed, as in running or riding. A series
of such competitions held at a specified time on a regular
course. Steady or rapid onward movement: the race of time.
CRUISING
To sail or travel about, as for pleasure or reconnaissance.
To go or move along, especially in an unhurried or unconcerned
fashion.
MULTI-HULL
The first multi-hull yacht was "invented" by Sir William Petty,
who launched a 30' catamaran, crude by any standard, in Ireland
on September 22, 1662. Trans-oceanic voyages are now commonplace
for multi-hulls; currently the fastest circumnavigation, the
longest 24-hour distance, and most line honors belong to multi-hulls.
